Sukoharjo, August 2026 — Two outstanding students from STMIK AMIKOM Surakarta have brought pride to the institution by achieving notable success at the International Competition Discover Jenawi 2026, an international essay competition organized by APTISI Komisariat II Surakarta. Their achievements reflect the students’ creativity, academic potential, and ability to share meaningful ideas on an international platform.
Held under the theme “Exploring Local Enterprise, Culture, and Community,” Discover Jenawi 2026 provided a valuable platform for students to explore local potential through perspectives on entrepreneurship, cultural heritage, environmental awareness, and community life. The competition brought together students from various higher education institutions across the Greater Solo Area – Indonesia, as well as international participants from countries including Timor-Leste, Afghanistan, Yemen, and Sudan.
Representing STMIK AMIKOM Surakarta, two students participated individually and successfully earned awards in different categories:
- Sahda Fidela Nuraini, a student of the Bachelor of Informatics (S1 Informatika) program, was named 1st Winner – Original Idea Category on Essay.
- Inaya Anggraeni Saputri, a student of the Diploma in Informatics Management (D3 Manajemen Informatika) program, received 3rd Winner – Environmental Insight Category on Essay.
The competition was conducted through a series of stages, beginning with registration from July 1–10, 2026, followed by essay submission from July 11–25, 2026 and the selection process from July 25–31, 2026. The winners were officially announced on August 5, 2026.
Sahda’s achievement highlights her ability to develop an original and compelling idea and communicate it effectively through academic writing. Meanwhile, Inaya demonstrated her awareness of environmental issues and her ability to transform that awareness into meaningful insights through her essay. Their achievements resulted in two international awards for STMIK AMIKOM Surakarta.
Beyond the recognition itself, their success reflects the importance of providing students with opportunities to learn and grow beyond the classroom. Participation in academic competitions allows students to strengthen their critical thinking, creativity, communication skills, and confidence while gaining broader perspectives through interaction with people from diverse cultural backgrounds.
For STMIK AMIKOM Surakarta, the achievements of Sahda and Inaya represent more than individual accomplishments. They are a source of pride for the entire academic community and an encouragement for fellow students to continue exploring their potential, developing their ideas, and pursuing opportunities at both national and international levels.
The achievement also reflects STMIK AMIKOM Surakarta’s continued commitment to fostering students who are creative, capable, confident, and globally minded. Through academic activities, competitions, and opportunities for wider engagement, the institution continues to encourage students to turn their knowledge and ideas into meaningful achievements.
The success of Sahda Fidela Nuraini and Inaya Anggraeni Saputri serves as an inspiring reminder that meaningful achievements can begin with a simple idea, nurtured through dedication, courage, and persistence.
